After careful consideration, I have made the decision to transition the leadership of the Durango Wheel Club and start the process of seeking a new Director. It has been an honor and a privilege to run the DWC, and I’m very proud of what we have collectively accomplished in the last few years, but now I need to pass the torch to someone else who can continue to progress the membership and organization.
I will continue to be a part of the DWC and plan to be a member for life. I will represent the Durango cyclists in the City of Durango Multi-Modal Advisory Board and the Bicycle Colorado Board of Directors, I’ll oversee with the first clothing order, act as treasurer during the transition to new leadership, and I will be available as an advisor to whoever steps forward to take the lead.
Bob Kyper has graciously volunteered to act as Interim Director during the transition. Many of you already know Bob, for those who haven’t met him I can tell you that he is an ideal person to fill this role and I am grateful that he stepped up to the challenge.
I hope you will all join me and support Bob as he settles into the new position!
