The City of Durango is facing severe budgetary cuts and will be asking for feedback to determine the priorities of City residents. The four-month process will begin March 1 and is an opportunity to let the City know where you want our local government to focus time and resources.
I hope you will join me in supporting any efforts to improve and maintain our transit system, including our bicycle and pedestrian infrastructure! I believe that one of the keys to ensuring Durango continues to be a vibrant city in the future is having a modern transit system that includes a connected network of bike lanes, bike paths, and sidewalks.
Please read the letter below from Assistant City Manager Amber Blake to learn more.
As one of our engaged citizens, I wanted to reach out to you to make sure that you were aware of an upcoming family-friendly public engagement opportunity.
The City of Durango is seeking your participation in a community conversation and process. This process will take place over the next 4 months, and is an opportunity to share your priorities, values, and vision to help guide the future of the City. This conversation and process will be multi-faceted and will build upon the input that we receive throughout.
The Kick-Off Open House will be Thursday, March 1st from 5-7 PM at the Durango Public Library. (This event is family friendly and light refreshments will be served.)
More information and updates on the process can be found at www.durangogov.org/engage. If you have questions please feel free to call me at 970-375-5005. I have attached a flyer with additional dates and more information.
Your input and participation have been invaluable in the past and I hope to see you on March 1st, please bring your friends and family.
