About the DWC

Members of the Durango Wheel Club have been cycling Durango since 1895. Originally the Durango Wheel Club was a cycling advocacy group. Later, the focus of the DWC shifted to being a social cycling club. Since the early 1970′s the DWC has promoted local races including the Iron Horse Bicycle Classic, started in 1972. Although the IHBC is now a stand-alone entity, the DWC is still the USAC host club for the now legendary event that occurs each year during Memorial Day weekend.
