Important Transit Meetings TONIGHT! 7/16

Tonight, July 16th, there are two important meetings that will discuss bike lanes in Durango; the 32nd Street Re-Striping & Florida Road Meetings.

The following excerpt is from the latest Safe Roads Coalition newsletter:

The City of Durango will host a public meeting in the Library Program rooms to review the proposed re-striping plan for 32nd Street from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m at the Durango Public Library. The City plans to resurface and repaint 32nd Street this summer from the east side of Animas Bridge to Holly Street. The new striping plan has been designed to BETTER accommodate all users and modes of transportation. The public is encouraged to attend and offer their comments. Refreshments will be provided.

Immediately following the 32nd Street meeting, the Public Works Department will be hosting the first pre-design public meeting for the Florida Road Reconstruction project from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m at the Durango Public Library. The firms of Concrete Express, Inc. and Muller Engineering Co. have been chosen as the design/build team for the project. The design team and City staff will conduct the meeting to obtain input, concerns, and ideas from owners of property that adjoin Florida Road and from community stakeholders. Detailed information about the project is available on the City’s website www.durangogov.org by clicking on the ‘Florida Road Reconstruction’ link under Items of Interest.
