Durango has been selected as the finish line for the 860-mile Race Across the West, and as a check point for the 3000-mile Race Across America bike race! The races began June 8th in Oceanside, CA. The racers are now arriving in Durango!
In order for them to have a sucsessful event (and come back next year) they need help staffing the 2 locations in Durango. They will have full time staff people at the 2 locations 24 hours a day but they would like some help so that the full-timers can get some rest. If you haven’t given back to the cycling community by volunteering this year now is a good time to do so!
We need people to work 3 hour shifts between Saturday and Monday During the listed time slots. We would like to get 2 or more people for each shift, but the organizers will be grateful for any shifts where we can help out. All Volunteers will get a volunteer T-shirt (because everybody needs at least one more), breakfast and or lunch at CJ’s Diner and they are invited to attend one of the banquets up at the college.
If you can work any of the following shifts please contact Candance Koska by phone or email (see below). Be sure to send me (Spencer) an email too so that I know who helped out.
