TODAY March 1st, is Winter Bike toWork Day, celebrated outside of Durango Coffee Company!
From 7am – 9am we will be honoring those who brave the cold, snow, and ice in their daily bicycle commute with FREE drip coffee and tea from Durango Coffee Co. and snacks from Clif Bar. The first 50 people will also get a long-sleeve commemorative shirt. The City of Durango is especially excited about this location because it will be the home to the 5th on-street bicycle corral this summer.
The fun continues in the afternoon for the BID’s Annual Tug-of-Weather
Durango’s answer to Groundhog Day. Six more weeks of winter or is spring around the corner? The official tug-of-weather (war) between the Winter Team (Durango Mountain Resort) and Summer Team (Mild to Wild Rafting & Jeep Tours) begins at 5:30 p.m. on 2nd Ave in front of Steamworks. Community “tugs” (teams of 6) begin at 4:30. Gather a team and challenge another! Stay to cheer on the Winter/Summer teams. Steamworks will be pouring brews. |
