DWC Works as a Team to help Andre Win Cat 4 at Adoption Exchange Omnium!

Last weekend the DWC Race Team went down to Albuquerque to participate in the Adoption Exchange Omnium. The team worked together to help Andre win the Cat 4 overall!

Race Summary:

Andre and Steve showed their strength coming in 3rd and 4th respectively on the TT. Mike 14, Bob 21 and Phil Stahl 36 out of a field of 51.

The crit was held under horrible conditions threatening a delay or shortening the race. Wind gust of 25+ mph, rain clouds spitting and a very large field. Crash took Mike out early, Bob and Phil endured the nasty conditions, Steve got caught in a split and finished 19th but Andre easily made the first group and finished 4th putting him in second overall going into the RR.

RR was a huge field of 65 deep and Bob, Mike and Rob took turns keeping Andre in the front and out of the heavy winds. Rob and Bob did tons of work at the front late in the race and Mike got Andre up and down the steeps. There was a rotation of DWC jerseys around Andre all day. It was a rare race where all the guys in a D jersey worked selflessly knowing what they had to do for Andre to have a chance to win the weekend. After 62.5 miles of some kind of combination of D’s in the front, Mike’s leadout stuck for 4th, Andre 7th, and Bob 8th. Andre won the Adoption Exchange Cat 4 Omnium by 1 point. Mike finished 10th and Bob 14th overall.

Huge congrats to Andre and to the team that helped him get there!
