Want to be a part of history?

The IHBC is helping Todd Wells and Ned Overend put on Todd and Ned’s Dirt Fondo. It’s a 30 & 50 mile XC “fondo” ride showcasing Durango’s local trails. We need about 35 volunteer course marshals. The event is Sept 12th and we’re looking for people for approximately 4 hour shifts between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m. Some course marshal locations are accessible by car; for others, we need able-bodied folks who can walk or ride to their spots in a timely fashion.

In return for your time we’ll feed you, beer you, give you an official Todd and Ned’s Fondo trucker hat and an invite to the 1990 World’s 25th Anniversary Party to celebrate the first ever UCI World Mountain Bike Championships held at Purgatory. There will be a lot of media, bike magazines, and most of the podium winners from that event attending as well as local pro riders. Plus you’ll get to watch some of the biggest names in mountain biking from around the world – past and present – make their way around our local trails. It’s a big deal and we’d love for you to be a part of it.

Visit the Durango Dirt Fondo website for more information and e-mail volunt[email protected] if you’re interested in helping.

Thanks!
